Another successful CAMBA event

June 4th and 5th was the 2nd Annual Festival of Trails Mountain Bike Event.  The CAMBA crew put on quite a weekend including technique instruction, guided trail rides, food stops by local restaurants and a Mountain Bike Film Festival in our courtyard under the bigtop on Saturday night.  Watching the movie Klunkerz in the presence of mountain bike legend Gary Fisher was a highlight for sure.  The Namakagon String Band provided an encore to the best night of music the southside of county road M has ever seen.   Congrats and thanks to the participants and the volunteers and sponsors that made it happen.

What to Expect in The Ideal Market

Located in a renovated historic building that once served as a hub for Cable WI in the 1930's.

You can enjoy a cup of fair trade organic coffee, pastries or an yogurt sundae from one of the best seats in town.  The large front patio and inside window seating offers the perfect place to watch local events, meet with friends, or to simply experience the flow of life in a northern town.

What to Expect in The Rivers Eatery

Connected to The Market is a former warehouse/apartment building that we call The Rivers Eatery.  With its 15' pine ceilings, spacious windows, clay tile, original wood floors, and a six-thousand pound stone oven, The Rivers provides a unique smoke-free northwoods dining experience.  Our hand made individual pizzas are the best on the block...possibly in town...some say in the country.  We'll let you decide.

We also feature more than 30 microbrew beers, sodas and rootbeers.

Every seat in the Eatery was filled as Garrott shared his 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympic experience.  It was a fun night and a great way to bid farewell to our local ski season.  Thanks Garrott!

A Birkie for the Record Books

Thank you for a great Birkie week!  The weather was fantastic, the trails in great shape and people seemed happy with life.  We appreciate your business very much.  We hope you found our establishment to be part of your Birkie experience.

If you love the northwoods in the Winter, be sure to stop by this Spring, Summer or Fall for a cold drink and a pizza in our courtyard.  The sun angle, blue sky and green forest will blow your mind.

Three new pizzas on the menu.

Great reviews for these new additions.

The Spirit Creek features pulled pork that was locally and humanely raised, bbq sauce and local organic sauerkraut and is named after the creek that gave Spirit Creek Sauerkraut it's name..

The White is a sauceless pizza featuring olives, tomatoes, olive oil and Jalapena Nina's pickled garlic.  It is a light and flavorful vegetarian pizza named after the river that flows through Todd and Nina's property near the Delta Diner.

The Nemadji is a thai pizza feturing peanut sauce, pea pods, oven-roasted peppers and light cheese.  It is named after our hard-working event volunteer "Brendaji from the river Nemadji" located near Wrenshall and Superior.

Thanks to all that participated in the Drummond Ski Team Fundraiser
One of the most successful high school ski teams in Wisconsin history is preparing their return to prominence.  On December 2nd friends and staff of the Ideal Market and The Rivers Eatery donated their time  to serve stone oven pizza to more than 100 customers in an effort to raise funds to provide equipment, wax, transportation and coaching for the the Drummond Ski Team.

The event was very well attended and the net proceeds from pizza and soft drink sales, silent auction items and donations all go to the ski team.   Thank you to all of you that attended and to The Namakagon String Band (who also volunteered their time) and the very talented entertainers that sang with them.

Redbery Books comes to The Ideal Market

Redbery Books.  Redbery, a well-respected independent book store that has been a favorite in the area for several years, has taken over a significant portion of the Market's floor space.   While the businesses themselves are separate, The Ideal Market and Redbery share a commitment to enhancing Cable's residents' and visitors' shopping and dining experience.   We're very happy to have such a quality business join us on old Main Street.

We look forward to seeing you soon.
